European Health Systems: Past, Present and Future: Technology meets Health System Research

International research institutions from 5 countries meet for short talks on how to help the health system on basis of routine data, using new and innovative technologies from data sciences, statistics and mathematics.

On this occasion experts from Slovenia and Romenia will present concepts how changes in politics generated new demand for skills in data processing. In addition experiences from EU projects and data linkage between countries will be presented by experts from Finland and Austria.

Mental Health, which is focus in the European Project CEPHOS-LINK (Comparative Effectiveness Research on Psychiatric Hospitalisation by Record Linkage of Large Administrative Data Sets) serves as an example of how to deal with changing health systems, to connect different data worlds and to develop new methods in order to prevent unnecessarily high numbers of (re-) hospitalizations of mentally ill people. In addition the actual research avtivities of DEXHELPP, a COMET K-Project with participation of TU Wien will be presented, especially the services DEXHELPP offers in the area of data based health system research in Austria. Last but not least a jointly developed lecture on modelling & simulation in Health Technology Assessment will be introduced.
